‘'Down Hole‘' method is one of the most effective methods amongd down-hole seismic researches. A well is adequate for applying this method.

Seismic energy is generated at a certain distance on well surface. Initial arrival times of seismic waves are provided by downward movement of 3 compound geophones at a certain distance and interval, which contacts with well walls.

Time-depth curve of belonging to whole wall is obtained by combination of arrival velocities of P and S calculated for each depth in well. These data obtained are used in determination of interval velocities and calculation of various elastic parameters in well.

Vaytaş successfully applies both down-hole and cross-hole methods with tools and equipment it has. Although Cross Hole is applied less as it requires at least two wells, it is preffered as explosion occurs in well.
